Wonderwall Studios Mixed Salvage Collection

You’ll struggle to find a more eclectic selection of hardwood and oriental wall panels than those within the Mixed Salvage Collection from Wonderwall Studios. Whether you’re searching for classic lines, tactile concepts or timber with stunning metallic hues and awe-inspiring three-dimensional qualities, Mixed Salvage offers wall coverings to suit any interior.

The wonderful thing about Mixed Salvage is its ability to resurrect otherwise discarded or disused materials, then repurpose them into sophisticated designs that provide a consistently premium finish to any space, be it a custom-built residential interior in need of extra depth or an office, restaurant, bar or hotel lobby that would benefit from added aesthetic intrigue.

Rejected timber with idiosyncrasies and so-called ‘imperfections’ are sourced from cabinetmakers and sawmill owners in India and Indonesia. Wood with diverse markings and wonderfully weathered surfaces is also salvaged from derelict buildings; from old floorboards to exposed roofbeams that have seen better days, Wonderwall Studios captures teak timbers and other materials with a unique story to tell.

Barrow, Jagger and Ludlow designs sit within the Studio’s hardwood timber wall panelling selection, while the Bridges, Gallon, Mercury, Train, Wheels and Parker collections displayed on this page all contain unique creations crafted from reclaimed oriental woods.

Barrow

Barrow creations have been developed using reclaimed hardwoods dismantled from derelict buildings in Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo. Wonderwall Studios have created the entire Barrow line to ensure these coverings are suitable for outdoor use, meaning designers and architects can finally begin to experiment with external hardwood wall panels safe in the knowledge that they will stand the test of time.

Jagger

Recovered from the seemingly endless railroads of India, these once-redundant railway sleepers have been given a new lease of life within the dark, heady designs on offer from Jagger. This timber has been hammered by countless diesel trains throughout the decades, leaving it with a robust, one-of-a-kind colour intensity that will add excitement to any interior backdrop.

Ludlow

Also suitable for external use, our Ludlow wall panels have been lovingly fashioned from timber that’s been extracted from abandoned properties in Kalimantan and bought directly from their owners (for a fair price, of course). The distinctively weathered look on offer from this particular reclaimed hardwood will ensure it holds up against the elements.

Bridges

As the only surface level wood panel within the Mixed Salvage collection, Bridges delivers an array of irresistible tones in a practical and versatile product that will add character to contemporary aesthetics and an olde-worlde charm to more traditional, industrial, or period-style interiors. Bridges panels are available in a range of dimensions to suit the demands of virtually any project.

Days

Beautifully rugged and tactile, Days oriental wood panels are pure works of art with plenty of stories to tell. On the surface, these designs look arbitrary – but every element has been hand-selected, re-imagined and repurposed by artisan craftsmen for maximum aesthetic appeal. Days looks especially striking in smaller settings.

Gallon

Big, bold, and boasting the unbridled character you would expect from Wonderwall Studio’s tropical hardwoods, these heavyweight wooden wall panels will add a sense of majesty to larger spaces that demand a scaled-up design. Gallon reclaimed oriental wood wall panels have been shaped from all sorts of timber cuts found strewn across factory and forest floors.

Mercury

Off cuts and overstock of teak and sapwood have been sourced from various global industries to create blended panels in lighter shades than those found elsewhere in Wonderwall Studio’s range. The result? A cleaner, more contemporary timber canvas that can either steal the show or blanket a more neutral background.

Train

Often considered the rough-and-ready sister collection to Springs, Train defies the rules with a capricious arrangement that showcases the rugged textures of the timber’s naturally eroded surface, which has achieved its current form having been beaten and battered in a previous life whilst holding up now-abandoned houses in Java.

Wheels

Wheels is one of Wonderwall Studio’s signature panels; a recurring hit with designers who appreciate the clever craftsmanship that has gone into reviving oriental wood that is markedly worn. Timber with varying degrees of erosion is combined to create layers of interest within a uniquely alluring aesthetic.

Parker

Made from the same reclaimed oriental timbers as Wheels – but making good use of slimmer shapes for a softer, more feminine feel – Parker will deliver some much-needed elegance to any environment. Looking at them in their current incarnation, it’s easy to forget that the materials used to create these gorgeous oriental wood wall panels started life thousands of miles away, in somebody else’s home.
